The River Board initiates and funds a variety of river
​restoration, improvement, protection, and education projects.

ROBINSON DITCH

​Between December 2020 and spring 2021, Pitkin County Healthy Rivers will be making a number of boater safety and habitat improvements to the Robinson Ditch Diversion, located on the Roaring Fork River between downtown Basalt and Willits. Please be aware this section of river will be closed during in-stream construction.

WHITEWATER PARK

In early 2017, Healthy Rivers completed a whitewater park in Basalt that is both a community amenity AND protects future flows of the Roaring Fork river.

RICD WATER RIGHT

Healthy Rivers has advanced a plan to implement a Recreational In-Channel Diversion (RICD) water right that protect future flows of the Roaring Fork River by granting Pitkin County the right to call water down the river to the whitewater park in Basalt.

OSPREY CAM

Healthy Rivers collaborated with Pitkin County Open Space and Trails, ACES, and Holy Cross Energy to install an Osprey Cam in Emma, Colorado.  The feed is available seasonally and provides a great way to keep tabs on our avian neighbors.​​​
